Bill is a strategic advisor to cybersecurity operators, boards and investors to build resilient programs, effectively govern their systemic risk, and improve the state of the art to keep companies and customers safer at scale. At World Innovation Lab he is focused on investments to improve cybersecurity and resiliency state of the art and managing portfolio risk.
As Informatica’s first CISO and Chief Trust Officer, Bill scaled their global cloud data management platform and built their enterprise and product security programs, ultimately taking the company public again to support 90+ trillion transactions/month and $1B+ ARR.
Previously, Bill helped Scale Venture Partners build their cybersecurity investment thesis, led Netflix’s corporate cloud cybersecurity programs and the design of AWS’s CloudHSM to democratize crypto at scale. His appreciation for digital transformations and security at scale was also formed by his earlier career at AOL, Netscape and Accenture R&D.
Bill holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Engineering Administration from Michigan Technological University, 2 US patents in information security, CISSP and NACD Cyber Risk Oversight certifications, and is a Qualified Technology Expert.
